Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

"How much is the Team Fee?"

Our Club Fee is $750. We call it a “Club Fee” because GCB is a club that allows you access to benefits only afforded to members. Your Club Fee is a one-time, nonrefundable fee that grants you access to those benefits until Spring of the following year.

"How do I pay the Club Fee?"

You can pay the Club Fee directly to the Director or through the GCB website. We accept debit cards, credit cards, Cash, Apple Pay, CashApp, Zelle, PayPal, and Venmo. You will receive a receipt upon payment for your records.

"How often is practice?"

GCB Exposure Clubs practice two (2) times a week. An additional two (2) days a week will be added to the schedule for Developmental Days with our NBA Skill Trainer. Developmental Days are not mandatory but are strongly encouraged by the Director. “You can’t consistently get better at basketball without playing basketball.”

"What are the age groups?"

GCB houses four (4) age groups for boys, with the youngest group being our developmental group. We carry 16U, 15U, 14U, and 8U.

"Do you have a Girls Team?"

Yes! We recently expanded our staff to include one of the top Girls Coaches in Memphis! He’s going to lead our Girls’ Division, The Memphis Lady Ghost Cats Basketball Club (LGCB). The age groups or tryouts for LGCB have not been finalized yet. That information will be delivered soon.

"What does the Club Fee include?"
Your Club Fee includes: GCB Gear, All Tournament Fees Paid, Real Sports ID Fee, AAU Membership Fee (For Hawaii Tournament), Access to Training Sessions with a legendary NBA Skills Trainer, 3 NBA-style Mini Camps, Practices all Spring/Summer, and 1 Undisclosed Benefit (Members' Privilege).
"Is travel included in Club Fee?"

No. Travel is not included in the Club Fee. While GCB is a Travel Team, competing largely out of town, we are not sponsored. As a program under the 501c3 organization, Cats The Care, Inc., we are eligible to revive sponsorships, grants, and donations. We actively seek those. Until those situations finalize themselves we ask families pay for their own hotels, transportation, and meals. GCB will negotiate with hotels, rental companies, and vendors before each trip to secure the lowest rates available for the group.

"Can we keep the uniform?"

Of course! ALL the gear you receive from GCB is yours to keep. We’re a family over here. Wear it proudly!

"Is this an AAU team?"

No. We are a Travel Exposure Club with a heavy focus on both on and off the court development and college placement. We do not play a traditional AAU-style schedule. Our schedule consists of grassroots circuit tournaments with media coverage and a college presence.

"Is there a limit to the number of people who can travel per family?"

Of course not! Bring the whole crew! Put them in GCB Gear and be LOUD for your Ghost Cat!

“Will my athlete be seen/recruited?”

There is no easy answer to this question. Yes - GCB will put your athlete in positions to be recruited and seen based on the tournaments we’ll be attending. Our schedule is packed with tournaments that historically have a College Presence at them. They’ll be around scouts, media, and coaches. We’ll also do our part to network with college coaches on your athlete's behalf to promote them. Getting coaches to practices and workouts, sending tape off to coaches, being there to navigate the process, etc. Yes, GCB will provide that and be there every step of the way. However, parents and kids, please understand this - at the end of the day, recruitment is up to you. It’s up to how hard you work. How dedicated, how coachable, how conditioned, and how mentally tough you are. How bad do you want it? We’ll find out!

“What circuit do you belong to?”

We do not belong to a circuit currently. Here at GCB we only want the best opportunities for our members. With that being said, we are working & playing towards becoming a Nike EYBL Club. We know the pathway, and we have a strategic plan in place to achieve this goal. When we say we want to build something special - that is what we mean. Building a Nike Program from the ground up. Being a part of something that when it explodes into what it’ll eventually be, you can be the one to say “I built that. Me & my brothers.” No better feeling than that!
